Structural works complete, 75 percent of apartments already let – high demand for micro-
apartment complex by DOMUS VIVENDI and Mercurius Real Estate in Frankfurt’s Ostend

Thousands of employees from the European Central Bank (ECB) will move into the new headquarters
in Frankfurt’s Ostend in mid-2014. At the same time, the “Little East” micro-apartment complex by the
DOMUS VIVENDI GROUP and Mercurius Real Estate, which is just a few minutes’ walk away, will be
ready for occupancy. And demand is high: 75 percent of the 272 part-furnished apartments have already
been let. “Our project is progressing extremely well. The structural works were completed four weeks
ahead of schedule in August and all trade jobs have already been commissioned”, says Thomas Oellig,
managing director of DOMUS VIVENDI GmbH & Co. KG.
The partners have already enjoyed success with the micro-apartment complex concept in other locations
in Frankfurt: Two buildings with over
340 residential units have recently been completed at
Westbahnhof. They were fully let before completion. A sustainable concept has been developed from a
niche in the real estate market and this concept can close a gap currently facing Ostend: the ECB has
announced that it will be employing over one thousand new members of staff next year. But living space
is scarce here; especially as the City of Frankfurt has no new apartments due to become available on
the Hanauer Landstraße in the near future.
Little East is a KfW Efficiency House 40 and enjoys a natural location near the riverbanks of the Main.
It is also close to the Ostpark and Frankfurt Zoo. S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations lie in close proximity,
providing rapid transport links to all destinations in Frankfurt. The development has 76 car parking
spaces in addition to the 272 residential units. Responsible parties are currently holding talks with
institutional investors concerning the sale of the real estate.
