DOMUS VIVENDI and Mercurius Real Estate are building the next energy-efficient micro-apartment complex in Heidelberg-Bahnstadt
Königstein im Taunus, 19th September 2012
Business partners the Domus Vivendi Group and Mercurius Real Estate AG have started construction on the micro-apartment development in Heidelberg-Bahnstadt. A micro-apartment complex will be built as a KfW passive house 40 in line with EnEV 2009 on the site. The plans are for a total living space of approximately 4700 m², housing 218 part-furnished residential units. There will also be a commercial unit measuring 305 m² and 31 parking spaces. Construction is expected to begin in October 2012 with the planned completion date set for December 2013. As one of the largest urban development projects in Germany, spanning some 116 hectares, the Bahnstadt Heidelberg combines proximity to nature with urban flair thanks to the clever use of the land.
The micro-apartment complex from the project partners has a central location and is situated in the immediate vicinity of Heidelberg main train station. The location combines attractive offers for science and research with affordable housing, family-friendly structures and a wide variety of shopping and leisure opportunities. “The Bahnstadt Heidelberg has been designed in line with the KfW passive house standard. By constructing the building as a passive house, the use of the latest technologies serves to save energy and thus secure value retention and comfortable living standards”, says Thomas Oellig, managing director of DOMUS VIVENDI GmbH & Co. KG.
