DOMUS VIVENDI Group sells micro-apartment complex close to new ECB
headquarters to Hamburg Trust
Königstein im Taunus, 3rd July 2014
The DOMUS VIVENDI Group and its partner Mercurius Real Estate AG have sold
their micro-apartment complex Little East to the Hamburg Trust. The fund and
investment manager has taken over the building close to the new headquarters of
the European Central Bank for 30 million euros. It will incorporate it into a closed-
end real estate mutual fund.
Thomas Oellig, managing director of Domus Vivendi GmbH & Co. KG: “We are
providing a new form of urban living. Our micro-apartment complexes represent
sustainability, modernity and flexibility. With the Hamburg Trust, we have found an
established funds manager for our development. It shows that we are on the right
track.”
Dirk Hasselbring, chairperson of the board at the Hamburg Trust: “In view of the
increasingly dynamic employment market, it is worth investing in micro-apartments.
The real estate at this prospering location will contribute to the future-proof
development of our portfolio.”
The KfW Efficiency House 40 incorporates 272 residential units with a total living
space of around 5,700 m². There are also 76 car parking spaces. The apartments
are around 20 m² in size and are part-furnished. The local S-Bahn and U-Bahn
stations are just a few minutes’ walk away. The complex was fully let before
completion.
DB Mobility Logistics AG was acquired as a general tenant for three-quarters of the
apartments. It will offer the apartments to its staff who are only due to work in
Frankfurt am Main for a limited period. Micro-apartments serve to relieve the strain
on the housing market, as they are tailored to suit the needs of these temporary
tenants.
The DOMUS VIVENDI Group is currently building two further developments in
Frankfurt: in the immediate vicinity of the airport and on a street parallel to the Zeil
shopping street. Further developments are in the pipeline across Germany.
